1 Timothy 2:1-7

Our lives promote the gospel. The way we live before the world is intended to commend and publicize the gospel of God’s saving grace through Christ. The gospel doesn’t depend upon us; we are not a prop or support for its effectiveness. But the simple truth remains that we are the aroma of Christ to the world around us; therefore, Scripture commands every believer to live in such a way that our lives affirm—indeed, promote and commend—the truths of the gospel to one another and the world around us.
